Cookery Competition

On Saturday the 15th December, mainly the ladies from our Vanitha Vibhaga met at the Mahila Sadana premises on N.S.Road and exhibited their skills in preparing predominantly  wheat based sweets and savory items.

There were 10 sweet items and 6 savory items, which were critically evaluated by Smt.Vasantha Ananthakrishnan and Smt. Hema Subbukrishna, not only from the point of their taste, appearance and presentation but also nutritive value, cost-effectiveness and preparation time. The participants were also required to provide the recipes, which will be made available to interested Members at a nominal price. Thank you, all the participants, for your wonderful cooperation and, more importantly, your active participation. Prize winners will receive their prizes at the Annual Day in January.

 

Awareness Lecture on Naturopathy

At the conclusion of the cookery competition, there was a talk for about 30 minutes on Naturopathy by one of our own Members, Smt. Hema Subbukrishna, an expert in this field. She highlighted the influence of the Panchabhutas on the human body and the need to maintain harmony with them in order to remain healthy. The talk was followed by an interesting discussion session, which elicited more information on this issue.
