Badaganadu Balaga, Mysore

Our main project for the immediate future is to get a site allotted from the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) at reasonable rate and start with building of a Badaganadu Bhavana.

The Bhavana shall comprise the following entities that will help the Balaga serve members of the Badaganadu Community better.

• Office Building and Meeting Hall for Balaga’s use
• Multi-utility Hall for public use
• Hostel to accommodate 20-30 students
• Lecture Rooms to enable conducting classes in Tailoring, Hindi, Ashtanga Yoga , Computer usage, Health camps, etc for all interested members
• A small Library and Reading Room

Building plans

The Office Building and Meeting Hall will be our first priority in order to meet the immediate requirements for office and meeting space for the Balaga. This building will also hold our administrative offices and will be a source of informationabout the Balaga for members and the general public.

The Multi-utility Hall is to be taken up next in priority since it would be a veritable source of regular income for the Balaga and make it no longer dependent on the Membership Fee alone. The rates are to be worked out so as to make it self-sufficient.

The Students Hostel will consist of rooms to provide inexpensive accommodation to needy students of the community. About 20-30 rooms are proposed, which will be financed by Donors Like You. The proposal also includes the following phase 2 ideas:

• One or two Lecture Halls to conduct regular classes in vocational areas, languages, computer courses, etc.
  
• An old-age home for elderly homeless members.
  
• A small Library and Reading Room for residents and members.

Latest on this front

We are glad to announce at this point of time (August 2006) that a Common Amenities (CA) site near Andolana Circle has been allotted to us by MUDA and we are getting possession of it within a short span of time !!
