News

Our Secretary Sri Shankar Rao, more popularly known as Nadige Shankar, has done it again! He participated in the 16^th Asian Masters Athletic Meet,(earlier known as Veterans' Meet) recently held in Bangalore, and won a SILVER medal against stiff competition in the 5 km walk for the 75 + age group. This is his 75^th / 80^th medal won over the past 10 years!! Keep it up Shankar Rao, we are all proud of you and wish you many more such happy outings!

Events

Our annual Outdoor and Indoor Sports events are going to be conducted in December and the winners will be awarded prizes in the forthcoming Annual Day function in January 2007. You will be posted with the information as soon as the dates are finalized.

At last, it is there....the final awarding letter from MUDA!! The ball is thus back in our court and we are getting ready to pay the 2^nd installment very soon! The 1^st is already taken care of by the amount we had deposited for the earlier allotment, which now stands officially cancelled. There are 3 more installments to be made in the following years and that is where we need large-hearted donations from one and all. Quite a number of people have assured us that they will come to our help once we take possession of the site and register it in our name.....and that is the next hurdle to be crossed!

The complete list of Donors since April 2004 has also been updated and can be seen there. Another list containing names of those who supported this cause even prior to that date is also getting ready, so that we do not forget those who initiated this thought of having a building of its own.

Articles for our website

We plan to include in the historical section of our website additional information about the Balaga (penportraits of our Founding Fathers and their contributions to the growth of the Balaga), about the Badaganadu sect itself (its origin and roots, its contributions to the Country in general and Karnataka in particular, as per information available in published literary works and reference sources like Wickipedia). While this can be handled by some of us here in Mysore, we invite the younger generation working/settled elsewhere and abroad, to contribute articles on modern ideas for making the website more attractive and also informative. Please feel free to suggest anything that might fit into this concept.
