Let me first of all wish all of you a very happy, prosperous and a glorious NEW YEAR.
May the coming year fulfill all your wishes and bring you and your family members all the enjoyment and ultimately result in increasing participation in our Balaga's activities!
Badaganadu Bhavan Building activities
Excavation for that part of the Bhavan's Building which
would house our Office and a Meeting Hall has been completed and the actual
marking for the columns and foundation bed is to be taken up shortly. Final
drawings are still awaiting approval by the Town Planning Authority. A spot for
the borewell and a water sump has been finalized and the work is to start soon
after the site is cleared of the excavated soil.

Outdoor Sports Events
On Sunday the 9th December, the outdoor sports events were conducted at the Rotary West School premises, with active participation from about 25-30 Members. Click here to read the complete article.
Cookery Competition
On Saturday the 15th December, mainly the ladies from our Vanitha Vibhaga met at the Mahila Sadana premises on N.S.Road and exhibited their skills in preparing predominantly wheat based sweets and savory items. Click here to read the complete article.
Awareness Lecture on Naturopathy
At the conclusion of the cookery competition, there was a
talk for about 30 minutes on Naturopathy by one of our own Members, Smt. Hema
Subbukrishna, an expert in this field. She highlighted the influence of the Panchabhutas on the human body and the
need to maintain harmony with them in order to remain healthy. Click here to read the complete article.
Donations received for the Building Fund
Now that the building work has started, it is imperative that our fund-raising campaign picks up momentum. We are happy to record the following donations received since the last newsletter :
Vanitha Vibhaga Members - Mysore - Rs. 300.00
Sri P. Shivashankar - Mysore - Rs. 5000.00

In response to our specific request for material help, one of the Members Smt. Prema Murthy, has offered 3 Tube lights, 1 Ceiling Fan and a Marble Slab for later use in the Bhavana Building. Another Member Smt. Anusuya has promised donation for a ventilator (worth Rs. 2500). Needless to say that such material donations also count a lot and we welcome all such donors profusely for coming forward in this manner. Learn more about donating to the Balaga.
About the Matrimonial Assistance Bureau
So far, about 6 registrations (from Members and Non-members alike) have been received and the databank is getting ready for being made available to interested parties. About the Computer Awareness Workshop
The one-day workshop attracted about 5 participants who were taught the basics of e-mailing and browsing the Internet. Smt. Asha and Sri Shashdihar did a wonderful job of getting them the confidence to open the Balaga website and even send e-mails to one another! Click here to read the complete article.
