Badaganadu Balaga Newsletter - June 2007

Once again, we had a relatively quiet month of June...........not much news from this side! Big surprise was however to receive a donation from an unknown Mysorean in US! While browsing for news about Brahmins in Mysore, he came across our site and was so impressed that he made a prompt donation to our Building Fund! Isn't it really wonderful of him? We feel so happy that our efforts have been appreciated and also resulted in winning over a new friend to the Balaga. Thank you Mr. Shankar Datta!

An Appeal for Sponsorship

We are proud to announce that our very own Nadige Shankar has been invited to attend the International Masters Event in Italy. He holds the unique distinction of having walked over 100,000 km in the last 22 years and has won 82 medals in all. Events

As we did last year , we had planned to have the Sathyanarayana Puja at our new site with the fencing work completed by end of this month. But it seems the dates were not agreeable with the particular stars! Also the Adhika Maasa intervened and it has had to be shifted to a more auspicious day by the end of August!

Projects

Although there hasn't been much progress on the Building Plans, we expect them to be ready for approval at the next General Body Meeting now fixed for 5^th August 2007. There will also be elections this year for all the official positions for the 2007-2009 term. We do expect a new and more energetic team to come in and take over responsibility for executing the plans. Let us wait and see; we will keep you informed.
