Change of Guards at BBMysore

At the recent elections held in June 2011, a new team has taken over the reins of the Balaga, some of the senior Members having opted to retire in order to make way for new faces. But essentially the core has remained the same, so that the Balaga continues to carry on along the proven lines and the completion of the Bhavana Building gets the same kind of top priority as until now. From the fund -raising and spending angles also, it was felt very desirable to have a good mix of senior and younger members in the committee.

Past executive committee

As on date, the Balaga has about 560 members on its roll. A large number of them are Life Members and are also concentrated in Mysore. The groups in Mandya number about 60 and those in Nanjangud and Srirangapatna about 30-40. All our activities are therefore held in Mysore but the Members from Mandya play a major role in conducting functions like Samoohika Upanayana each year.

We have been functioning since 1989 and are an offshoot of the more famous Badaganadu Sangha in Bangalore.
